Yuandian Biotechnology (Hainan) Co., Ltd., established in August 2025, is a biotechnology company dedicated to original innovation in insect-resistant genes and committed to promoting independent and controllable sources in biological breeding. Yuandian Biotechnology adopts an innovative model of joint ownership by "universities + scientific research achievers", with Professor Zhang Wenfei's 20 years of accumulated intellectual property rights in insect-resistant genes being valued and converted into shares, becoming the company's core asset. Relying on university scientific research resources and the industrialization platform of university science parks, it has established a deeply integrated innovation system from basic research to industrial application.

         As a leading domestic provider of key traits for biological breeding, Yuandian Biology has long focused on the systematic exploration of insect-resistant gene germplasm resources. The world's largest tropical rainforest-characterized Bacillus library has been established, preserving over 300,000 Bacillus strains, completing whole-genome sequencing of more than 1,000 specific strains, and successfully identifying and cloning over 1,500 insect-resistant and herbicide-resistant genes. Based on the high-value gene database, more than 10 key genes with significant commercial value have been successfully screened, exhibiting excellent resistance to pests such as lepidoptera (fall armyworm, corn borer, cotton bollworm, etc.), coleoptera (beetle, grub), and hemiptera (aphid, spider mite, whitefly, etc.) as well as crop nematodes, effectively filling the technological gap in China's gene resources for resistance to hemiptera pests and crop nematodes.

          Our mission is centered on achieving self-reliance and controllability in the seed sources of major crops such as corn, soybeans, and cotton through biological breeding. Our goal is to significantly reduce the use of chemical pesticides, lower agricultural production costs, mitigate agricultural non-point source pollution, decrease carbon emissions, protect the ecological environment, and achieve cost savings and efficiency improvements.
